[00:10] Kacey K: Welcome to the simply healthy You Podcast. Your place for overcoming overwhelm with your health to reach your fullest potential. I'm your host, Casey Kane, and I am so pumped to have you here. I'm a recovering, burnt out high achiever who is diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid condition by my early thirty s. I didn't realize that running myself ragged in the name of being superwoman and determined to achieve all the things in life was killing my body. I created this podcast so that you don't have to continue the struggle like I did for over a decade. I sat down, studied the data, and simplified what it means to prioritize your own health needs so that you can be the best for all the things on your to do.

[00:50] Kacey K: List.

[00:50] Kacey K: Everything you hear on this podcast I have tested and implemented in my own super packed life with my family to bring you the tips, tools and strategies that will keep your life simply healthy.

[01:06] Kacey K: Hello and welcome to another episode of Simply Healthy You. I'm your host, Casey Kane, an integrative health practitioner and certified Holistic Nutritionist with a Master's in Psychology. And I'm here to bring you science based conversations to help you live a healthier and happier life. Finally, a quiet moment in my house. Getting used to the schedule and working diligently behind the scenes on my website, getting that up and running. That should be up in the next couple of weeks. I'm working with a wonderful copywriter, someone who is going to help me, another woman who's going to help me with my search engine optimization. I'm learning so much about putting together a website and I'm so grateful to have connected with these other female entrepreneurs to put this whole thing together because honestly, I could not do this by myself. And then of course, I have my fabulous assistant who has experience in design, who's doing all of the design elements for me and helping to plug everything in. So I'm super excited about that. Coming up, of course, I will definitely be announcing when that is live and running. It's going to just be a fantastic, wonderful hub for you to be able to see all of the products and services that Simply Healthy Casey can bring to you at any given moment. I now have a really comprehensive product suite for you to get started. Some entry level offers for you to be able to do with me if one of the longer programs like Simply Healthy Academy, you know, my baby that I talk about all the time, if that is not currently in the cards for you, I still want you to be able to get somewhere on your health journey. So I've got a few things available. I also have a new free download available over on my Instagram. If you click the link in my bio, it is called Simply Nurtured Hormones. I've talked about this before. I love the fact that hormones have become such a bigger part of the conversation when we're talking about health and wellness for women. And I think there's so much great information that is out there. But with that there's also a lot of really terrible information out there about what you can be doing to correct Hormonal imbalances. And so I really wanted to put together a free simple guide that would help you get some of the overwhelm out of knowing what to do to start correcting your hormones, to start rebalancing your body, simple ways, simple strategies and tips for you to be able to implement and execute right away. This is not a fluffy freebie. I know you've probably downloaded free guides from people before and they're either very fluffy, not a lot of concrete things for you to actually be able to take action on and ultimately just pitching services, right? Of course I would love to work with you and I'm never going to hide that. But the point of this freebie is really to help you get started. I think so much of the barrier of doing anything about our health and wellness is that it seems very complicated to get started. So there's twelve tips and strategies on there, as well as a bonus of my top favorite supplements, including links to the exact products that I use with myself and my clients to help support Hormonal balance. So go over to my Instagram, click that link in my bio and download that today. A free download for you to be able to again execute right away on being able to correct your hormone imbalances. So I've got that going as well. And then there is something that new that will be coming with the website as well. So not only will it be a list of my current products and services, but there's a new product that we are going to be working on that will be announced at the same time as we launch the website. So stay tuned for that. Might also be along the theme of hormones. So if that is something that you have appreciated learning more about here and wanting to correct for yourself, whether you have something like PCOS endometriosis or are suffering from some of the common but not normal symptoms painful and irregular periods, heavy bleeding, heavy clots, migraines, mood swings, chronic fatigue, even post menopause still having hot flashes, poor quality sleep, any of those things. This new product is going to be for you. All right, so let's get to the point of this episode. It's going to be a brief one through this together today, based on conversations that I've been having with some new clients. I've had a few of the 60 day Integrative Health Protocol clients starting up over the last couple of weeks. I do have some spots available for that as well. In August, I had a lot of updates for you. This is what happens when I don't regularly get to record a podcast episode. I have so many updates for you. So I do have some spots available in August for 60 Day integrative health Protocol clients. That is a 60 day package that includes a hair tissue mineral analysis lab that gives us a comprehensive picture of what is going on with your adrenals, with your hormones. It tells us your nutrient mineral levels, it tells us heavy metal and toxin overload, which, by the way, I'm about three days at the time of recording this into my own heavy metal detox. It's going pretty well so far, not feeling a lot of effects of it. So super excited about that. I love the company that I am using now for a lot of the supplements and protocols that I recommend to my clients. They just have some fantastic formulations and so that you will see on this lab test as well and the effects of chronic stress on your body. We all have stress, but over time, chronic stress can really take a toll. And so far, running this hair tissue mineral analysis with clients has been fantastic to point us in the direction of exactly what their body is needing, what stage of stress they are in, because there's seven different stages of adrenal maladaptation. I've talked about it before in previous episodes. You can certainly go back and look at many of the hormone episodes where I talk about this. There's seven different stages and the earlier that you can catch yourself and support your body in rebalancing itself, the better off you will be. Because when you get to full adrenal maladaptation, full exhaustion stage is a very long process to get your body back up to par. And I mean really makes sense because this doesn't just happen overnight. This is months and years of very stressful situations kind of taking a toll on our body. So that's included in the 60 day integrative health protocol. We are going to do a full comprehensive intake so I know exactly what is going on with your health. Pair that with the results that you get from your hair tissue mineral analysis. And I am going to create a customized protocol for you to implement that covers diet factors, lifestyle factors, and supplements that will help you on your way to feeling like a better version of yourself instead of the shell zombie version that maybe you are operating in today. I know exactly how that feels, so I have a few spots for that in August as well. So many exciting things over here. Let me get to the point of this episode, though. It was going to be brief, but I just spent I don't know how many minutes talking about all the updates. If you have any questions about any of those things, you know where to find me. Over on instagram. Simply healthy. Casey. K-A-C-E-Y. Happy to chat with you in the DMs, as always. I want you to make the most informed decisions about your health. And I'm happy to answer any of the questions about any services or products that I can provide to you. So today I want to talk about pushing beyond your comfort zone. And I think what I noticed with a lot now, obviously with the clients that I have been talking with, they've already started to push beyond their comfort zone just by signing up to work with me, right? That is the first step that you can take. Even just downloading my new free download, simply nurtured hormones, even just downloading that is pushing a little bit beyond your comfort zone of where you probably have been operating, right? It's taking action. It's doing something that you know that you need and that you could use and trying to take at least one step, even if it's a baby step, even if it's a free download, that's still a step in pushing outside of your comfort zone. And we all kind of know that we need to get there in order to really improve and change. And this is not just related to health and wellness, but I think anything in our life, right, when we operate in our comfort zone all the time, we don't get anywhere. We don't achieve our goals, no matter what they are, no matter what they have to do with. Your comfort zone is not where great things happen. It's the comfortable place that you've gotten to and it served its purpose, I'm sure, for a period of time. There's a lot of survival that has to come from operating in our comfort zone at times. And we all have different trauma and things like that. And so our comfort zone can be a safe place, but at some point we've got to recognize that it's holding us back, right? You know that feeling when you want to achieve a goal but something's holding you back? That little devil on your shoulder that I'd like to call hesitation here, right? We all face it, whether we're coaches, practitioners, or just simply striving to be the best version of ourselves. It's something that everybody absolutely faces. We all hesitate and second guess ourselves when it comes to taking that next step. But here's the deal. There's a couple of reasons why this is happening to you and why you have that hesitation. It might be a lack of knowledge or knowing what might be the best fit for you, right? Many times my clients come to me and they resonate with me because they are very confused about what it is that might actually be a good fit for them when it comes to their health and wellness. And they have heard some of the information that I've shared, but they've also heard a lot of other information and they're just trying to sort through it all. They don't know if they really have all the knowledge that they need in order to take that next step. That is sometimes the case, right? Sometimes it's just a lack of knowledge. It also can be that you have some of the knowledge, you kind of know what you need to do or you have the skills at least, right? All my clients have the skills to be able to improve their health and wellness. They absolutely all have the skills to improve their health and wellness before they sign up with me. Some of it is knowledge. We work on the knowledge piece and I want to say that if that's your hesitation of not necessarily knowing the best fit, it's easier to solve that problem. The problem that's not easier to solve in the hesitation. The issue that we have here is the mental barriers that keep you from taking that leap, right? There are so many things that go on in our brain, the shit between our ears that keeps us from taking that next step. We can say it's lack of knowledge, but that's an easy problem to fix. Like I said, you can find me anyone else. It's so easy to find knowledge these days. Your mind plays that little game with you. It's sitting there whispering are you sure you can handle this? Are you sure you're going to be able to do this? You haven't really been successful with things like this in the past. Are you sure you're ready for this? Again, this happens to all of us. That little devil in our ears, shit between our ears, sitting there telling us that we might not be able to do this because past history has told us that we've failed at many similar types of things in the past. And I think this goes along with what kinds of things were you choosing in the past? Right? And being able to discern that was never meant for me to be successful. That was a diet culture bullshit thing or that was a scam because someone was trying to sell me some supplements, right? We have to be able to parse out and discern these things in our logical mind to try to get that mental barrier to go away. Let me tell you, pushing yourself without understanding your own psychological readiness can be a total disaster as well. So while I do want you to push outside of your comfort zone, you really need to understand whether or not you are ready for this. And this is something that is hard to do on your own. I see a lot of my clients go through this process while in Simply Healthy Academy and just working with me in general. Even my shorter 60 day clients. I see this transformation happening with them as we start to learn and pull things out. Many times they are ready for the nutritional pieces, right? They are ready. We've tried a million other diets so getting ready for a new nutritional plan and even a new supplement plan or specific protocols based on lab results that we need to follow to heal some of our health issues. That's all pretty easy for our brain to wrap our heads around, right? Like, we can do that pretty easily because we've done similar things in the past. But the psychological readiness of really opening yourself up to other things that have been holding you back in your health and wellness journey, past trauma that has held you back in your health and wellness journey, things that maybe you chose to do in your past, ways that you chose to eat, ways that you chose to exercise. A lot of the time I see my clients really transforming here because there's an immediate reaction to feel guilty, right, when we realize all that we have done to ourselves unknowingly. I mean, we're not picking these diets because we think it's going to destroy our health. We're doing these things because we're looking for an answer and we might not have chosen the right answer, but we did it with the knowledge that we had at the time. We did the best we could with the knowledge we had at the time. And so I think understanding the psychological readiness is really important. There's a reality that this idea of going for more and pushing outside of your comfort zone might vanish into thin air if you're not feeling supported and ready to get yourself there. So how do I handle this with my clients? Here's my secret sauce to it. I push them, but not recklessly. I'm not going to be that trainer screaming in your ear, go hard or go home. If you're not ready to vomit, then you're not working hard enough, right? No. I'm going to push up to the very edge of their comfort zone and find that sweet spot where they kind of start to squirm. They kind of start to doubt whether or not they can do it, but I know that they can. And they small part of them knows that they can too. It's not comfortable. But we're not pushing them so far to the edge where it's like there's no possible fucking way that I'm going to be able to achieve that. Yes, it's uncomfortable, but growth happens just outside of that cozy little comfort zone, just outside the line where it's starting to feel uncomfortable but it doesn't feel totally unachievable. And I've talked about this before and I've talked about simply Healthy academy, but this comes from those building, those small habits, making those small changes over time where it's like I haven't been able to do this thing consistently. And so where can we get you just a little bit outside of your comfort zone to work on that consistency and get that little habit checked off so that your comfort zone grows a little bit more and a little bit more and before you know it, a lot of things start to become second nature. Listen, you might not be fully ready for the next step, you might not be. That's why I have things like a free download. You may not be ready to sign up to work with me yet. You just might not be in the headspace for that yet. And I honor and recognize that. That's why I have the 60 day integrative health Protocol as a great introductory way of jumping into these functional medicine labs and understanding how they work and seeing how supplements can help transform your body in a stage of healing, right? That's why I have these things as different steps that you can take because ultimately you probably do need Simply Healthy Academy, right? I mean, let's face it, 99% of women need Simply Healthy Academy. We are all struggling with health issues, period. There's not a single one of us that isn't. So we all could use Simply Healthy Academy, but that's a big thing to jump into if you haven't even been able to take that first step on your health and wellness journey to starting to feel better or to know. Following me on Instagram, listening to this podcast, that is a next baby step. That is a way of getting outside of your comfort zone. But if you haven't been able to take action on it yet, you're not going to be fully ready for Simply Healthy Academy per se. Some, yes. Some can make that jump. And that's okay though, because I think a lot of us do live in that in between, in that middle. We're in this for the long haul, though, and I tell my clients this all the time. Many of them, after they sign up with me, said that they were watching me and following me and learning from me and downloading free things and doing workshops or doing introductory protocols for a year to 18 months before they actually sign up for Simply Healthy Academy. So I get it. We are in this together, though, for the long haul. There is no race to the finish line here. I always want my clients making sustainable progress and I think paying attention to where our mental barriers are breaking down those mental barriers and rewiring our mind. It takes time. There's no shortcuts here. There really isn't any shortcuts here. It takes practice. There's no shortcuts in simply healthy academy. It's not sexy and it's not glamorous for me to constantly be telling you that you can't biohack this shit. I get that it sounds frustrating because there's a ton of people on the internet right now that are telling you that you can do all these tips and tricks and in 21 days everything's going to be all better and you're going to be wonderful. It's not fucking true. It's just not. That's not how the body works. It's not how the brain works. It takes time. It takes practice. It takes it consistency and repeating these things over and over and over again. But you can do this. You do have this. You can get a hold on this. Anyone can do it. Really, anyone can. You just have to take the steps that are right for you. I've seen it in myself and I've absolutely seen my clients rise to the occasion and you absolutely can too. So here's my challenge to you this week when we're talking about pushing outside of our comfort zone. I want you to lock in on one goal that you have really been itching to explore, one that has been weighing on your mind and that you've just kind of pushed out because you just don't know if you're ready to do it. You don't know if you have the tools to do it. Whatever any of the things that came up in your mind, any of the reasons. Right. I want you to write down all the things that might happen if you never pursue that goal. Right? So if you never pursue that goal, what is your life potentially going to look like? How are things going to go then? What I want you to do is write down all the things that might happen if you do go after that goal. And if you achieve that goal, what is your life potentially going to look like if you go after that goal? All the thing dream big here. Either way, what is your life going to look like if you don't do it? And what is your life going to look like if you do do it? I want you to think of the worst case scenario, because oftentimes that's what, wasted time, wasted money, wasted energy. It seems to be where we hesitate the most, right? Because those are limited things. We only have a certain amount of time every day. Money is somewhat limited. I do think that we can always make more money. There are always many ways to make more money. Yes, we're limited on time, but I think there are always ways to make more money and energy. I mean, we are limited on energy. We all have to sleep and you need to get your seven to 8 hours of sleep in order to be improving your health and wellness. So that's worst case scenario though, right? You wasted time, you wasted money, you wasted some energy, right? But then I want you to think of the best case scenario. How much could your life change if you went after the damn thing? Whether it's health and wellness or something else, give it the attention and energy that it deserves. Because, my friend, you deserve to live a life where you conquer your dreams, where you achieve the things that you want to achieve. We all deserve to have that. So I want you to do that exercise this week. That's my challenge to you this week. Lock in on one of your goals that you have really just not leaving your brain. And I want you to write down worst case scenario if you go after the thing. Best case scenario, if you go after the thing and what your life looks like if you don't, go after it at all. Right, please share your reflections on your goal with me.
